I'm sure you've heard the phrase “!@#$ Happens”. You have probably seen it on a T-shirt, or on a bumper sticker, or you’ve
heard somebody say it innumerable times - “!@#$ Happens”. In case you haven't and therefore don't understand what !@#$ represents here, it begins with an “S” and can be used as a fertilizer.
Joking aside, in this world !@#$ does indeed happen. In fact it happens quite frequently. As a result we human
beings find ourselves the victims of everything from mild frustration to some of the most horrible tragedies we can imagine.
Much of the !@#$ that we are subjected to is caused by things outside human control (disease, earthquakes,
tornados…etc…), other !@#$ is caused by we humans as we respond with fear to the !@#$ that cascades through our world. Our reactive fear results in evils such as greed, revenge,
and indifference toward the well-being of others.
Whether you're talking about the !@#$ that's outside our control, or !@#$ that's created as we human beings respond with fear to the !@#$ to which we’ve been subjected, the remedy is Grace.
Grace, when given by human beings, typically means an act kindness, courtesy,
or clemency (forgiveness). Grace, when given by God, typically means an act of unmerited divine assistance given
humans for their regeneration or sanctification.
But there is “Good News”. God’s Kingdom come, will
be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. In my opinion, the best way to understand and appreciate the Grace of God, and
the best way to learn how to extend to others the grace we ourselves desire and need, is to become a follower of Jesus Christ.
THE GOOD NEWS IS, “GRACE HAPPENS”.
